Electronic Poker is a favored game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, through an Internet connection. The game rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the player has chosen which cards he would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning players are able to select the most beneficial machine each time.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which case another hand is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
