Video Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a web connection. The regulations are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it is much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "handed out" on the screen.

The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most beneficial game every time.

After the first round has played out, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Further, some styles of the game give the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which case another game is played. There are also variations between specific machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
